After only two weeks of hosting an open house at its latest project, Woodmont Metro at Metuchen Station, Woodmont Properties announced it started construction on its next project, Woodmont Cove in South Amboy. Following the success of the transit-centered developments in Mount Arlington and in Metuchen, Woodmont Cove, a two-story, 106 townhouse style apartment complex with garage parking and 20 apartment units, will be constructed seven blocks away from the South Amboy NJ Transit train station. “South Amboy’s coastal location is a great attraction to future residents,” said Stephen Santola, Woodmont Properties’ executive vice president. “The property is perfectly situated between New York City and the Jersey Shore. Residents will have the convenience of a seamless commute to the city while having the convenience of a short drive to the Jersey Shore.”
Much like Woodmont Metro in Metuchen, the company plans to deliver luxury units while offering a myriad of amenities to its residents. On April 8 and 9, only five days before Woodmont announced it had started construction in South Amboy, the company held its first open house at Metuchen. Woodmont Metro residents are set to have access to the Shops at Metro, a European-style plaza anchored by retail storefronts in Metuchen. Resident amenities also include access to a rooftop terrace, fitness center, swimming pool and a game room with a sports bar. “In addition to the vast amenities available at YMCA, residents will be able (to) enrich their living experience by utilizing Raritan Bay Waterfront Park, which offers breathtaking views of the New York City skyline and is home to a variety of festivals, free concerts and public gatherings throughout the year,” Zlotnick said. In South Amboy, however, Woodmont plans to use its proximity to the Jersey Shore and New York City, as well as its adjacency to the South Amboy YMCA, to attract potential residents. The company said the ferry shuttle stop half a mile from the complex will allow residents to reach New York City in less than an hour by train or ferry. Woodmont Properties will begin leasing at the Cove this summer, and occupancy in September.
